The Samoan culture incorporates the belief that one must respect, take responsibility, have integrity and live with dignity. The family is the foundation on which the culture relies.

For a youth to have a chance to live in and be a part of a community that has no hunger, no homeless, no unwanted children and yet does not have much wealth or substance, is an experience that forever will change that youth's life. When combined with the excellent therapy and structured program provided by Coral Reef Academy, you have a real win-win situation.

Robert Louis Stevenson, the well-traveled author who made his final home in Samoa sensed this atmosphere for change when he said, "...no other part of the world exerts the same power upon the visitor."

Because we are located on the island of Upolu, Samoa, everything about us is unique. Not only is Samoa beautiful, it is unspoiled, unhurried and uncluttered. This is where your child’s first steps on the road to recovery begin. Our therapeutic milieu is structured so that your child will understand why he is here and what goals need to be met. With the guidance of our qualified staff the scope of our program, our in-house school and positive peer culture, your child will begin to makes changes that will last a lifetime. The Coral Reef Academy will provide a safe, productive environment for change.

We believe that the family is the most important component in our society. The academy is set up to parallel similar dynamics that you experience at home. While your child is with us he becomes a part of our family. We take this responsibility very seriously. Your child will have the opportunity to live, learn and grow in a culture based upon a strong family influence. Your child will return home with a new respect for the family structure and it’s relevance to his present and future life.
